Jasmin Ramirez's family was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the same day as her husband, and they all tested positive despite having had all of their vaccines, according to the family.
According to CDC rules, they were obligated to quarantine for ten days, which started with a ray of optimism. They were eventually unable to obtain key services after a COVID diagnosis as a result of a hiccup in communications.
COVID claimed the lives of almost half of Latinos in Colorado, who knew a family member or friend who died from the disease. The system is so plagued with flaws that it is unable to provide appropriate assistance to the people that it has vowed to serve.
There is a need for useable, practical materials for members of our community who are non-English speakers, illegal immigrants, the elderly, and the handicapped.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Latinos residing in the United States are more likely than other ethnic groups to be diagnosed with and hospitalized with COVID. This infection also increases our chances of death by more than double.
